The films, produced by Poland’s BreakThru Productions (best known for Oscar winner Peter and the Wolf), and Chinese studio Bona Entertainment, as part of the 200th Anniversary celebrations for composer Frederic Chopin are all set to Chopin’s Etudes performed by super-star Chinese pianist Lang Lang.

In these collections one can find movies made in variety of ways: from Magic Piano (dir. Martin Clapp) produced in stop motion; through mix of CG and paintings in Scarecrow (dir. Przemysław Anusiewicz) up to Little Postman the world’s first and so far only 3D painting animation film.

Magic Piano and the other shorts were frequently shown and awarded at film festivals around the world. Magic Piano was Oscar-shortlisted in 2012 and received Srebrna Kreska award at OFAFA animation festival in Krakow (Poland), as well as Best Film at 3D Stereo MEDIA 2012 in Liege. Little Postman received the Best 3D Short award at 3D Film Festival in Los Angeles, and the Best Animation award at 3D Stereo MEDIA 2012 in Liege.

The Magic Piano & The Chopin Shorts were conceived to also be screened in concert halls accompanied by live solo piano and sold out shows have already taken place in London’s South Bank Centre and New York’s Lincoln Centre. The next shows will be organized by Aldeburgh Music Festival, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, and the Hong Kong Arts Festival.
