Following the successful launch of Polish Film Club in summer 2017, we would like to present the initiative's further programme commencing late October and introduce a new partner venue, The David Lean Cinema in Croydon. Hatred and Convoy are among the first confirmed titles.

Convoy, an action crime thriller featuring star performances from Robert Więckiewicz and Janusz Gajos, offers a dense intrigue in the dark landscape of Silesia region. When a prison principal wants to recruit an experienced warder for a transport of a dangerous prisoner, he finds out that his son-in-law has unexpedly joined the party.

Hatred is the winner of 9 Polish Film Academy Awards, including Best Picture. The film takes up a difficult and higly controversial topic of World War II homicide at Polish eastern borderlands against a love story. Being in love with Ukrainian Boy Petro, Zosia is forced into marrying a wealthy villager instead. Soon the war breaks out and and the ethnic carnage begins. The life of the local community is under constant threat. Smarzowski asks disturbing questions and avoids simple answers, as he does not leave anyone blameless.
