Chopin The Course celebrates the 200th anniversary of Fryderyk Chopin’s birth with an inspirational journey.  In June, a crew of Polish students embarked on a four-month voyage to meet their European neighbours and experience the romantic side of life at sea.  Like ancient seafarers discovering new lands, the young ambassadors will arrive in London, the twentieth and penultimate port, in time for the Thames Festival.

The Fryderyk Chopin sailing boat was made in Gdansk in 1992, and is the biggest of its type in the world. Beginning its epic tour in Szczecinin Poland, The Fredyryk Chopin will make its way through Sweden, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and France, arriving in September in London.

At each port the boat becomes a floating university, where lively topics such as youth, music, love, freedom and creativity are explored. These themes not only reflect Chopin’s life, but are closely linked with Polish history and the character of the nation.

An exciting programme of activities to accompany the ship’s stay in London:
