Polish Women Directors
Our season in Riverside Studios brings you the often hidden face of Polish cinema – eleven feature films and documentaries by female directors.

By far the most prominent of these directors is Agnieszka Holland, who is ranked along side with Wajda and Kieslowski. Barbara Sass, very popular in Poland, is a master of contemporary feminine issues, Dorota Kedzierzynska, despite having directed only four films, struck the juries in Cannes, Mannheim and Boston with her originality. And, Krystyna Janda, star of Wajda's film Man of Iron, impresses in her directing debut.
