London Product designer Maciek Wojcicki has been invited by a high street apparel retailer Urban Outfitters to prepare an exhibition of his work in its Oxford Street branch in London.

His work has been appreciated and recognized by UO as matching their brand qualities and store spirit. Developing of the store experience and creative engagement with new designers is a part of a brand strategy. Maciek is the first product designer invited to a creative cooperation by this apparel brand, also for him it is the first solo exhibition one year after his graduation from Royal College Of Art.

Exhibition consists of designer’s earlier works and represents quite wide variety of objects starting with “L.O.F.T” workstation and “99g” hanging table shown in Milan (“Hotel RCA” and “13,798 Grams Of Design” shows) this year through “Gap light” lamp to a “Snooking corner” yet unknown to public.

Recently Maciek is looking for a new commission opportunities and working on his new projects. His design can be described as practical but playful and customizable as objects rarely have one strict way of using. Most of the exhibits are examples of new typologies, which does not yet exist in our cultural landscape. A margin of freedom in dealing with items is a recognizable element of Maciek’s work as he is informing objects with features supporting interaction between user, object and space. He is looking for emotional qualities that are missing in those objects being binned every day but which may be found among items being kept up stairs in attics.
