Kacper Kowalski, 2009 World Press Photo Award winner and the 2nd best paragliding pilot in the world was born in 1977 in Gdansk/Poland.
With the degree in architecture and a paragliding instructor license, as a photographer he focuses on aerial photography. Thanks to unusal control over the picture that he has beeing a pilot and a photographer at the same time, Kowalski shows urban landscapes and rural sceneries never seen before.
Polish Patterns is his lates project. Abstract pictures – all taken in the northern Poland- resemble paintings rather then photographs. Graphic compositions of fields, roads and rivers, lakes and meadowslike puzzle cuts – these are astonishing views accessible only from above.
