Ewa Axelrad, recently nominated for the View 2017 Deutsche Bank Award, has her presentation on display at the Zacheta National Gallery in Warsaw. Her recent shows include i.a. Bold Tendencies and The Ryder in London.
The discussion will explore the problematic subjects of brothers-in-arms, group mentality and the allure of nationalism.
An introduction by the curator of the show Sylvia Serafinowicz will be followed by exceptional speakers: Fatos Ustek (Independent curator and writer; projects include fig-2, ICA London, 2015; Art Night, East London, 2017); Joseph Constable (assistant curator, Serpentine Galleries and independent writer, recipient of the Whitechapel Gallery’s 2015 NEON Curatorial Award) and Anthony Gardner - Head of the Ruskin School of Art, Oxford University; writer and editor of the MIT Press journal ARTMargins.
