The Polish Stage Company UK presents its unique Literary Cabaret, reflecting on our bitter-sweet struggle for independence, which centenary is celebrated this year. Polish Specialities, which is the title of the Cabaret, blends different forms of expression, such as poetry, music, songs and sketches, based on the works by the leading Polish poets and composers. The title of the cabaret is a pun on the name of popular Polish delicatessen in London, while conveying the main qualities of our national character – u, satire and song. Those three have sustained us throughout the years, during our best and worst moments leading us towards the independence.

The Polish Stage Company was founded in 2004 and is based at POSK. It is renowned for its original productions of Polish drama and poetry, mixing the best of Polish texts and its humour and irony, presenting all with a captivating music.

The programme is accompanied by the English commentary, so it can be enjoyed by Polish and English speakers alike.
