Passing Stranger Theatre Company is designing a production that brings an old Polish play - Balladina - to a British audience for the first time. The production is a modern, punchy and bare-faced rendition of the play that doesn’t take itself too seriously. We rollercoaster through seven characters’ outlandish stories using physical theatre, clowning, peppered with heart-breakingly still moments of true empathy. The stakes are always high for the central characters, either to tragic or comedic effect for the audience. With a fantastic, greatly European cast bringing an array of quirky talents to the stage, we have breathed new life into an archaic script, brilliantly translated into colloquial English by an award winning professor Bill Johnston of Indiana University.
