In this episode Socash & The Stars, Ryan explores the career of a singer who is proclaimed to be Poland’s answer to “Nate Dog”. Despite a few controversial remarks by both Socash and his guest the two had an interesting conversation about music.

Geared towards an American and British audience, Polish Radio’s new show “Socash and The Stars” explores modern Poland by presenting interviews with influential Polish celebrities and authentic Polish music. The weekly show is broadcast live on Wednesdays via the World Radio Network, and can be streamed anytime at thenews.pl

The Shows host, Ryan Socash, is an American artist who has lived in Poland for nearly seven years. On November11th 2008, Socash was given Polish citizenship. During his citizenship ceremony the extent of this honor became clear when the president of the region (Małopolska) proclaimed that Socash now holds the key to Polish culture, and is expected to not only contribute to the cultural integrity of Poland, but to also promote his new home to the world.

Incidentally, In 2010 Socash was rose to famous for a musical collaboration with Poland's X-Factor host, Czesław Mozil. Having taken his citizenship ceremony to heart, the rookie star chose to embrace his new relationships with some of the biggest names in Poland to create a radio show which can both showcase the country's modern cultural image abroad, and give something back to the people who helped him make a home in his new country.

Having spent the majority of the past seven years in the Republic of Poland as an active and recognized singer-songwriter, I have had the unique privilege of being a part of the music scene, and thus part of contemporary Polish culture.  Throughout my experiences here I’ve observed that many of my artistic peers exhibited unparalleled creativity and artistic ambition. However, unlike many other European countries, Polish ambition goes unnoticed in the west. Having experienced our rich Polish culture as I have, I know that the common stereo-type of a vodka sipping, potato eating peasant in a folk dress is a highly inappropriate burden for young Polish people to bear. This is a burden I seek to help relieve with my new documentary style show Socash and The Stars.
