The internationally recognised Polish pianist Anna Kijanowska will be performing a free concert at St Martin-in-the-Fields in Trafalgar Square. Having taught and performed on every continent, Kijanowska's concerts are world renowned for representing the stunning diversity of a globalised classical music scene. On this global stage, Kijanowska has a particular passion for bringing Polish music to the world by performing rarely-performed classical pieces such as the Piano Concerto by Lutosławski, as well as major works by Chopin and Górecki.
The program will begin with the world premiere of Concert Fantasy for solo piano based on the opera The Haunted Manor by Moniuszko. It will be followed by Grażyna Bacewicz's Sonata for Piano No 2, Avner Dorman's Sonata for Piano No 3 ‘Dance Suite’, and will conclude with Anna Kijanowska's performance.
