To celebrate Poland’s regained independence 100 years ago, a presentation, in English translation, of poems about the Polish countryside that kept the nation’s spirit alive during the long era of partion. Accompanied by Polish music, a display of photographs and paintings, and a taste of Polish gingerbread.
Anita Jones Debska has translated a wide range of Polish poetry and given presentations in a variety of venues. Her previous publications include Migrant Birds. Selected poems by Adam Mickiewicz and The Well-Tempered Lute. Poems from Poland’s golden age. This year she was awarded the ‘Gloria Artis’ medal for her contribution to Polish culture.
Damian Debski is an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain and his work has featured in the Royal Society International Slide Exhibitions and the International Garden Photographer of the Year exhibition.
