Ever since winning the 1975 Chopin Competition in Warsaw aged only 18, the great Polish pianist Krystian Zimerman has held a special place among the world's finest interpreters of Chopin. Tonight, the first of two special Chopin birthday concerts, provides a rare opportunity to hear this revered and dazzling artist play the composer's Funeral March Sonata in B flat minor and the mighty Third Sonata in B minor side by side.

Fryderyk Chopin: Piano Sonata No.3 in B minor, Op.58
